Coalition Statement on Bipartisan Senate Legislation to Repeal the Health Insurance Tax

The Stop The HIT Coalition, which represents small business owners, their employees and the self-employed, issued the following statement following introduction of the Jobs and Premium Protection Act (S. 80), bipartisan legislation to fully repeal the ACA’s Health Insurance Tax (HIT).

“Small business is the backbone of the middle class and the Health Insurance Tax (HIT) is a backbreaker. Penalizing small businesses and their employees with a regressive tax on their health insurance has always been fundamentally flawed policy. We commend Sens. Barrasso (R-WY), Gardner (R-CO) and Sinema (D-AZ) for their continued leadership in standing up for the nation’s small businesess with the introduction of the Jobs and Premium Protection Act (S.80), bipartisan legislation to repeal the HIT once and for all.”
