Stop The HIT Coalition Statement on Health Extenders Package

For Immediate Release

The Stop The HIT Coalition, which represents small business owners, their employees and the self-employed, issued the following statement in response to the introduction of the Permanent Relief for Seniors and Medicare, Medicaid, Human Services Extension Act of 2019 by Senators Pat Toomey (R-PA) and Mike Crapo (R-ID):

“We applaud Senators Pat Toomey (R-PA) and Mike Crapo (R-ID) for including a 2-year suspension of the Health Insurance Tax (HIT) for 2021 and 2022 in their proposed Health Extenders package. Americans want Congress to take action on health care affordability and delaying the HIT is a bipartisan solution that would save hardworking Americans an estimated $1,000 over two years. Small businesses, middle-class families and seniors can’t afford to pay more for their health care. The time to Stop The HIT is now.”
