Stop The HIT Coalition Statement on U.S. House of Representatives Action on ACA Tax

The Stop The HIT Coalition, which represents small business owners, their employees and the self-employed, issued the following statement in response to the U.S. House of Representatives vote to repeal the Cadillac Tax:

“We commend the U.S. House of Representatives for repealing the Cadillac Tax. To provide further consumer relief, we look forward to working with bipartisan members on extending suspension of the Health Insurance Tax (HIT). Absent immediate action, the HIT will return on January 1, 2020 raising the cost of care on small businesses and their employees, families, and seniors.

We’re pleased to have the support of bipartisan House and Senate members who want an immediate solution to protect consumers from rising health insurance premiums in 2020. We urge Congress to enact HIT relief now.”
